The aim of this week of shows and activities, presented by associations and entities dedicated to the process of inclusion with people with social vulnerability or functional diversity through art, “is to raise awareness among the university community about the process of 'inclusion by showing how it works in artistic environments', explains UAB professor Josep Maria Sanahuja, from the Center for Studies and Research for an Inclusive Society (CERSIN), a UAB research group that is carrying out the project “INARTdis-Fostering social inclusion for all through arts education: developing supports for students with disabilities”.

Organizers want to explore inclusion strategies, publicize their work, and show the importance of being proactive agents in the development of a fairer society.

The people who make up the companies that will act represent the diversity of society, whether it’s because of gender, different abilities or backgrounds. Professor Sanahuja emphasizes that the aim is to convey "how art helps to create inclusive environments".

The companies that will perform, from Monday to Thursday, are La Xixa Teatre, Liant la Troca, Teatre Nu, Fundació Aspace and Suso Espai, which offered theater, dance and music shows as well as an exhibition.
