One Health Platform: III National One Health Congress

The III National One Health Congress will be held from 27 to 29 May at the Carlos III Health Institute in Madrid.

The holding of this meeting, which under the motto One Health in action: connecting ideas, people and solutions reflects its purpose of providing instruments that contribute to aligning public policies with the One Health approach, in a center that is a reference in biomedical research and public health, provides a framework of scientific excellence that strengthens the connection between evidence, innovation and political decision-making, symbolizing the commitment to governance based on knowledge and intersectoral cooperation.

The event will feature round tables in which high-level experts and political leaders will address key issues to advance the One Health agenda, a large section dedicated to the presentation of scientific communications, and training sessions for advocacy and public communication with the aim of promoting greater participation of the scientific community, civil society and other agents in public life. One of the key moments of this edition will be the presentation of the Guide to implementing the One Health approach in all policies, which is being prepared by the multidisciplinary group From living document to operational consensus, promoted by the POH. In a context marked by the growing health, climate and social complexity, and by the promotion of a State Pact against the Climate Emergency, Spain is preparing to integrate the One Health approach at the heart of its policies. This guide arrives at a key moment to move from consensus to method, from conceptual framework to practical application. A strategic tool that aims to position Spain as a benchmark in the real integration of the One Health approach.
