The agreement предусматривает the organisation of lectures, workshops and social innovation projects to address the city's challenges with experts from the UAB.
The president of the Amics de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Association (AmicsUAB), Susanna Baqué, and the mayor of Sant Cugat del Vallès, Josep Maria Vallès, have formalised a cooperation agreement aimed at bringing scientific and academic knowledge closer to the public. The signing took place in the Sala Ginesta at the City Council, with the participation of Carme Ardid, Councillor for Education and Universities.
The agreement aims to bring academic knowledge to society and strengthen the links between the university and the local community. The initiative is part of AmicsUAB's IMPACTA programme, which promotes the transfer of knowledge generated at the UAB to society. The programme identifies local needs and connects them with the expertise of university teaching staff and researchers, with the aim of helping address local challenges.
Through this collaboration, AmicsUAB continues to advance its mission of strengthening the relationship between the university and society, helping academic knowledge reach new audiences and contribute to local development. The agreement paves the way for a range of initiatives, including scientific, cultural and social outreach activities, as well as conferences, seminars, courses and workshops.
This agreement marks another step towards fostering dialogue between the university and the public by creating accessible opportunities for knowledge-sharing, reflection and debate on issues of social interest, open to the wider community.
