The year 2025 has been declared by the United Nations as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, and Sabadell is joining the initiative with the Quàntica@SBD cycle, a project led by the Bosch i Cardellach Foundation, in collaboration with the Friends of the UAB Association. This cycle will bring top experts to the city to make quantum science and its applications more accessible to society.
The first event will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, March 18, at 7:00 PM, at the Foundation’s headquarters (Carrer d’en Font, 1, Sabadell), featuring the talk "From the transistor to the qubit: a story full of quantum science." Local experts Francesc Serra and Francesc Pérez, specialists in microelectronics, will explain how quantum science has revolutionized electronics and our daily lives.
The cycle will include a total of 10 events throughout the year, covering topics such as quantum computing, astronomy, advanced health technologies, and fundamental particles. It will also highlight Sabadell’s connection with the Autonomous University of Barcelona and its scientific ecosystem.
Quàntica@SBD is coordinated by the Bosch i Cardellach Foundation, with the collaboration of Amics de la UAB, along with other organizations such as the Astronomical Association of Sabadell, the Vallès Delegation of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia, and the ALBA Synchrotron.
If you want to learn more about the quantum revolution and its influence on the future, this cycle is a unique opportunity. For more information, you can email ciencia@fbc.cat or follow the activities on Instagram, X/Twitter, and Facebook.
