On May 2nd, the AmicsUAB association had the privilege of taking a fascinating visit to the renowned Library of the Illustrious College of the Bar Association of Barcelona (ICAB). Specializing in Law and Social Sciences, this library is considered one of the most important in its field across Europe.
With more than 350,000 volumes and nearly 1,600 titles of periodical publications, ICAB houses an impressive amount of legal knowledge. In addition, it has almost all the relevant legal databases, which include legislative, jurisprudential, doctrinal, statistical content, as well as models and forms.
In recent years, ICAB has worked intensely to facilitate access to its most modern resources, keeping them constantly updated. Among the areas visited was the Reading Room, which houses monographs published in the last six years organized by subject, and the Pràcticum Room, designed for quick consultations of codes, forms, and practical guides.
Additionally, the library has a Newspaper Room that includes the most consulted journals of recent years, organized by topics, as well as a Multimedia Room equipped with 20 computers with access to all electronic resources and the Internet.
