From AmicsUAB we would like to congratulate Dr. Josep Lladós, a member of our board, on his recent election as president of the Associació Catalana d’Entitats de Recerca (ACER) for the next four years.
The election took place last Monday, October 6th, when the Extraordinary General Assembly of ACER elected Dr. Josep Lladós as the institution's new president, a well-deserved recognition of his professional career.
Josep Lladós holds a PhD in Computer Science, is director of the Computer Vision Center (CVC), and an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at the UAB. He also holds the Chair of Knowledge Transfer at the UAB Research Park and Banco Santander, is a Spanish ambassador for the Time Machine Organization, and is a research associate at the IDAKS Lab at Osaka University.
At the CVC, he leads the DocAI research group, specializing in computer vision, pattern recognition, and document analysis. Throughout his career, he has led numerous international projects, published more than 300 scientific articles, and supervised 18 doctoral theses.
At AmicsUAB, we are very proud to have him on our Board and wish him the best of luck in this new phase. We are convinced that his experience and vision will contribute to strengthening the role of Catalan research internationally.
Congratulations, Josep!
