From AmicsUAB, we would like to congratulate Dr. Joan Comella on his recent appointment as the new Director of the Sant Joan de Déu Research Foundation, succeeding Emili Bargalló after 15 years of leadership and commitment at the helm of the institution.
This transition marks the beginning of a new stage for the Foundation, which continues to strengthen its role in promoting research, innovation, and social impact in service of people, especially the most vulnerable groups.
Dr. Joan Comella holds a PhD in Medicine and is a specialist in Neuroscience, with an extensive career in biomedical research and research centre management. He has developed his career in translational neuroscience, with a clear focus on knowledge transfer and improving people’s health and wellbeing.
Throughout his professional career, he has held several senior positions in research and innovation institutions, standing out for his leadership and his commitment to collaboration between scientific, healthcare, and social environments.
