May 9th is Europe Day, and the European Documentation Centre of the UAB has organized various activities to commemorate it.
Europe Day, May 9th, celebrates peace and unity in Europe. This date marks the anniversary of the historic Schuman Declaration, in which he presented his idea of a new form of political cooperation in Europe that would make war between European nations inconceivable. Schuman's proposal is considered the beginning of the European Union as we know it.
