On November 16, we enjoyed the Annual AmicsUAB 2023 Party, full of surprises. One of them was the lithograph given to the awardees.
This year, the process to choose the artwork was a collaboration between AmicsUAB and the Escola Massana, which is affiliated with the UAB. To give visibility and offer career opportunities to students and alumni from this School of Arts, a call for submissions was posted on their website, through their Employment Service, asking them to send original works that could evoke the academic world and the UAB. After gathering all the submissions, the one selected was the piece presented by Carlos Gallego, a third-year student in the Arts and Design degree program.

The piece Les 4 torres vibrants depicts the 4 towers of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, surrounded by 3 very distinctive colors to abstractly represent a sunset with the towers at the forefront. As the author explained during his speech at the award ceremony, the color green, the corporate color of AmicsUAB and the UAB, represents freshness and nature; yellow evokes a sense of energy and vitality, and blue conveys the idea of the sky, creating balance.
A limited edition of 20 high-definition reproductions of the work, signed by the artist, was made. One was given to each of the awardees this year, and the remaining pieces will be given to various personalities related to the UAB and our Association.
