On June 6th, the Mestre Martí Tauler Library in Rubí hosted a new session of the "Coffee and Law" series, featuring the lecture titled “The Protection of Consumer and User Rights in the Digital Era: Are There Limits to Contractual Abuse?” delivered by Mònica Perna, lecturer in Commercial Law at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). The event was introduced and moderated by a representative of AmicsUAB.
Mònica Perna provided a detailed and rigorous analysis of the challenges involved in protecting consumer and user rights in the digital context, focusing particularly on potential contractual abuses and the legal boundaries currently in place to counter them.
The session included practical case studies and reflections on how these issues affect everyday life, as well as the need to strengthen regulations to ensure better protection and transparency.
The conference concluded with a Q&A and open discussion, where attendees were able to share concerns and experiences related to the topic.
With this session, the "Coffee and Law" lecture series came to a close for this academic year.
