New session of the "A Coffee with Law" series with Dr. Glòria Ortega and the image of children in the digital environment

On May 9th, the Sala Sagarra at the Ateneu Barcelonès hosted the conference “Time to Turn Off the Camera? The Image of Children in the Digital Age”, led by Dr. Glòria Ortega. The event was presented and moderated by Alfredo Ramírez, professor of Constitutional Law at UAB.

Dr. Ortega offered a critical analysis of children’s visibility in digital environments, particularly on social media, family blogs, and online educational platforms. The session addressed issues such as overexposure risks, violations of privacy rights, and the pressing need to adapt regulations to a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Key questions were raised: What control do children have over their own image? How can families, schools, and institutions ensure the safety and dignity of minors in the digital sphere?

For those who could not attend, a knowledge capsule on the topic is now available at the following link:

The Un cafè de Dret series continues with new conferences that invite reflection on the major social and legal challenges of our time. We hope to see you there!
