On Thursday, December 12, the presentation of the book Digitalization, undertaken and right to the Library of Social Sciences of the Autonomous University of Barcelona took place. The event, supported by AmicsUAB, was organized by the DIGIDRET Research Group of the Faculty of Law and coordinated by Professor José Antonio Fernández Amor. It was a great success and had a large crowd.
This book, published by Atelier Libros Jurídicos and available in open access, brings together 11 chapters written by members of the DIGIDRET Research Group. It addresses key issues on how digitization impacts companies from a legal perspective. Issues such as the regulation of teleworking, the responsibility of companies using artificial intelligence, e-commerce and data protection, as well as the tax and legal challenges arising from digitisation are discussed.
During the presentation, Dr. José Antonio Fernández Amor highlighted: "This book will create more questions that will solve answers," underlining the objective of the work to encourage continuous reflection on the challenges digitization presents to companies and law.
The book can be borrowed from the UAB Social Science Library as of the date of its presentation. It is now available for consultation on the library service’s website, where it can be read online, making it easily accessible to all interested parties.
The event was bimodal, with face-to-face and online participation through TEAMS, and generated a rich and participatory debate among attendees, who were able to exchange views and ask questions to the authors.
