On Wednesday 21 May at the Rector's Hall of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), a ceremony was held to recognise those retiring in 2023-24. The tribute, organised with the aim of thanking them for their professional careers and commitment to the institution, was attended by the rector, Javier Lafuente, who presided over the event, as well as other members of the Governing Team.
The event began with a welcome speech by the manager, Esther Zapater, and the projection of a video of AmicsUAB, in which it was emphasised that the link with the University does not end with retirement, but continues with AmicsUAB.
Afterwards, Dr. Mercedes García Arán, representing the Teaching and Research Staff (PDI), and Mr. Antoni Barfo, representing the Technical, Management and Administration and Services Staff (PTGAS), addressed the audience. Their speeches, full of gratitude and emotion, contributed to create a warm and close atmosphere, highlighting the work of all the honorees.
