The Fibonacci sequence, the golden ratio in nature and everyday life

On Tuesday, October 8th, a conference titled "The Fibonacci Sequence, the Golden Ratio in Nature and Everyday Life" was held, organized by Nexe Amics UAB, the new name for the sessions previously known as Universitat Opina. The event was a resounding success, with the room filled to capacity, reflecting the audience's interest and curiosity about these fascinating topics.

Professor David Marín, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, was the speaker for the session. Although the concepts he discussed are of a mathematical nature, and can be somewhat heavy, the professor managed to explain them clearly and understandably, making it easier for the audience to comprehend.

He delved into the Fibonacci sequence and the golden ratio, highlighting their presence both in nature, in the shapes of flowers, galaxies, and the spirals of shells, as well as in everyday life, in art and design. David Marín presented concrete examples, such as the relationship between the golden ratio and famous works of art, as well as objects in our daily lives, helping the attendees connect these concepts with their personal experiences.

After the talk, a highly participatory Q&A session was held. Attendees were able to ask questions, share their curiosities about the subject, and this generated a rich and stimulating debate. This exchange made the session even more enriching, consolidating the conference's goal: to make mathematics accessible and relevant to everyone.
