UO: Cryptocurrencies: What Are Bitcoins and How Do They Work?


Next Tuesday, March 12th at 6:00 PM, the conference within the Universitat Opina series titled “Cryptocurrencies: What Are Bitcoins and How Do They Work?” will be held, presented by Jordi Herrera, a Mathematics graduate from UAB, PhD from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and professor in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at UAB. The event will take place at the Mestre Martí Tauler Library in Rubí.

The conference will shed light on the unknown and emerging world of cryptocurrencies, explaining their functionality and the advantages and disadvantages they may represent for their users. During the talk, the origins of these digital currencies and what differentiates them from traditional systems and currencies will also be explained.

The ultimate goal of this conference is to bring the new world of cryptocurrencies closer to the audience, explaining how they work and what advantages or disadvantages they may entail for their users.
