UO: Female Role Models in Science: Where Are the Women?

On February 20th at 6:00 PM, a crucial and inspiring conference titled "Female Role Models in Science: Where Are the Women?" will be held, guided by Susanna Baqué, PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and president of AmicsUAB. The event will take place at the Mestre Martí i Tauler Library in Rubí and will address the notable historical absence of women in the scientific field.

The conference aims to deeply explore the question: "Where are the women in the history of science?" and reflect on how some of the greatest female minds have remained in the shadows for decades, highlighting significant women who have paved the way in science through their crucial contributions to understanding the world. The conference will also examine why these contributions have gone unnoticed and the steps that can be taken to change this reality.

This conference seeks to promote constructive dialogue on how to overcome the obstacles that have limited women's visibility in this field. It will also be an opportunity to acknowledge past contributions and explore ways to create a more equitable and inclusive future within the scientific community.
